Courses & Prerequisites Required to Receive a Certificate or Masters of Xiuxing (Cultivation)
There are several courses that are required as prerequisites to taking other courses. You must complete “G02-Spiritual Autobiography” where you introspect on your life past and future and consider your goals in pursuing this program. You also need to complete “D01(A)-Listening to the Supreme & Magnificent Dharma” before listening to the other Dharma Discourse courses, “DCB12-The Dharma of Cultivation” before taking several other related courses, and “G03(A)-Evolution of Buddhism” and “D35(A)-The 128 Evil and Erroneous Views before taking the biographies and commentaries. The other prerequisites are noted below. The courses in bold maroon type are available now and linked to the course detailed description.
NEW!!! We have added a new subprogram to the Xuixing Seminary–the Xiuxing Practice Program. Overall, the Xuixing Seminary was established to provide a core of Dharma Discourses and other teachings by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and related commentaries and biographies of great saints from other Buddhist traditions to prepare an English-speaking student to be able to take his or her own students and set up his/her own temple or Dharma Center to help provide the teachings to others. This can be done by completing either the Certificate or Masters of Xuixing programs. However, we found that many–even most–students were not interested in the certificate or degree, but were more interested in progressing with their own Dharma practice. In addition, Zhaxi Zhuoma wanted a way to share the Solitary Retreat Dharma that the Buddha Master had transmitted to her in 2010. The rinpoche also realized that there were certain minimum requirements that a student needed to be able to benefit from this Dharma. These courses are included as prerequisites or as prerequsities to the other required prerequisites.
