This course provides a reading of a preliminary translation of the Dharma Discourse by H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III on “Cutting Off the Twenty Dharmas Relating to Ordinary Feelings” given on a Trip to the East Coast taken with senior disciples in 2008. This discourse contains twenty different feelings or emotions related to worldly concerns that normally preoccupy and sway ordinary people. They are more detailed than the “Eight Winds” of 1-gain; 2-loss; 3-honor or fame; 4-disgrace, dishonor, or infamy; 5-praise; 6-ridicule or censure, blame, or criticism; 7-pleasure or happiness; and 8-suffering or pain. It is our attachment to either our desire or aversion for them that keeps us in samsara.
The curriculum video is from a reading of a preliminary translation of this discourse by Zhaxi Zhuoma Rinpoche at a Lemonade Sangha class given on April 9, 2022.
